For pieces of short fiction, creative nonfiction, and essays,
we offer four different editing packages.

the once-over:

We’ll give your piece of short fiction, creative nonfiction, or essay a thorough once-over and send it back with line by line edits to improve pacing, narrative flow, transitions, voice, plot, structure, dialogue, character development, and style. We’ll also note what’s working, and make specific recommendations about what could be improved.

• Up to 3,000 words: $200

• 3,000 to 7,000 words: $300

THE TWICE-OVER:

Exactly the same as the once-over, but includes two rounds of edits.

• Up to 3,000 words: $300

• 3,000 to 7,000 words: $400

The thrice-over:

Two full rounds of edits, plus a final copy edit.

• Up to 3,000 words: $500

• 3,000 to 7,000 words: $600

guaranteed placement

Exactly the same as the thrice-over, but we’ll work with you to identify 10 literary journals, guide you through the submission process, and guarantee that your piece is picked up by one of them. This service also includes an edit and copy edit of your cover letter and short bio. If, after a year, your piece hasn’t been placed, we’ll help you continue your submission efforts until your piece has found a home, or refund you $100. Your choice.
